Landscape Urbanism at its best

This is an exceptionally fine book filled with excellent illustrations and beautiful photographs. It examines a series of historically important urban landscape designs including ancient Rome, the Tuileries in Paris, John Nash's Regent's Park and Regent Street in London, Olmsted's Central Park in New York and Cerda's plan for Barcelona. In each case there are clear explanatory diagrams explaining the history of the designs, and how they have evolved over time.
The authors both taught at the Delft School of Architecture in Holland and the book is a companion, produced by the same publishers Thoth, to the admirable 'Atlas of the Dutch Urban Block'.
This book is very timely in the current debate about Landscape Urbanism.
It is a must-buy for any aspiring urban design student or practitioner.
