A geography teacher, head of year and head of department, Andy was a headteacher in east London for thirteen years. In the last year of headship, his school was judged outstanding in all categories and Andy was designated National Leader of Education. In 2009 he become a Director at the National College for School Leadership, leading on the London Challenge programme. He was subsequently responsible for setting up the government's flagship Teaching Schools programme. In 2012, he was appointed as Managing Director for Academies at United Learning. Andy established Leadership Matters, an organisation that focuses on providing strategic advice on educational leadership as well as practical input through executive coaching, leadership team development programmes and training. Andy combines this with part-time roles as Dean of the Leadership Faculty at Teaching Leaders and as the Senior Leadership Advisor for United Learning. Andy was invited to become a Fellow of the RSA in 2014 and has been a Board member for various organisations including the Teacher Training Agency, the National College for School Leadership and Partnerships for Schools. He is currently a Trustee for the Teacher Development Trust and the Teaching Awards. He has written three educational management books: 'Making School Work'; 'What Makes a Great School' and 'What Makes a Great Middle Leader?

Mastering damaged

The first story “Indebted” had me hooked on this series. It’s darkness with a penlight that gets brighter and brighter as you go on the journey. The books in the series must be read in their order for the reader to get the most out each story. In fact, “Inevitable” is part II of “indebted”, the stories of Bree and Zerro. Characters: Devon and Jared are introduced to the reader in “Indebted”. “Invincible” is Devon and Tegan’s story and “Injustice” is Jared and Isabella’s story. “Infringed” is a short story about Bree and Zerro that the author should not have bothered to write. I would rate that tale a zero. I also didn’t enjoy “Invincible”. It was my first disappointment in the series. Devon and Tegan were in a cycle of whining that got on my nerves. Additionally, it demeaned Devon’s swag. Devon is supposed to the child of drug dealers who leaves his small town to join the FBI where he becomes masterful in his trade. Yet, he made one amateur mistake after another in “Invincible”. I kept rolling my eyes in disbelief throughout the read. The big showdown moments were not surprising but it felt like the author thought herself shocking or surprising her readers with climatic scenes. I knew how the characters would get out the mess and I knew very early in the read the identity of the boss behind Tegan’s mess. The discovery of the FBI boss’ hand in Devon and Tegan’s lives was a very pleasant blindside. Don’t get me started with the countless times that I thought “you got to be kidding me” and “give me a break” with Tegan’s storyline. Yet I rated this box set with 4 stars because “Indebted”, “Inevitable” hit it out of the park while “Injustice” was a bases loaded play. Those stories make the series a must read. The stories are not cut from the same formula. Each reads like a totally different tale with its own plot / concept. “Indebted” and “Inevitable” have extreme gangster violence wrapped in suspense with unpredictable twists and turns; but, is a love story with some hot sex scenes. “Injustice” has similar themes of redemption, personal growth, and the power of love from the right woman that is found in Zerro and Bree’s story. I definitely recommend this box set. It is definitely worth more than I paid for it on Amazon; I feel like I got 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet set for $1.00.

I just couldn't continue on with this. There was just nothing here that truly grabbed me, or managed to hold my attention for long with these stories or characters.

I'm honestly surprised I read for as long as I did. I finally decided to just stop in the middle of the 3rd book of this 5 volume book series.

So I don't see myself returning here.

I'm just glad this set only cost me $1.00.

Basically I wasn't feeling the simpleton approach here. Given the circumstances & what is occurring with these people. How dangerous things are, they were resolved in a very easy way. Even with how things played out. This approach/resolution just didn't match the circumstances & reasons of why we're witnessing certain things. I just couldn't believe it, nor could I get behind it.

And the fact that the characters didn't really inspire me to care about them or their plights, didn't help either.

The Blueprint for Wellness!

First of all, I refuse to give you a break down on the book, because if you're anything like me, you've already done your research on it and you're just trying to find out if this book really works. It does. This is a blueprint to wellness. The ingredients are inexpensive and easy to find. The program is detailed without being too cumbersome. And the results are amazing. I lost 11 pounds using just "The Remedy" 4-day cleanse. After that, I went on to do the 5-Week Program, and lost an additional 24 pounds. My skin is so clear that I don't have to wear make-up anymore. My hair has grown out to almost past my shoulders (which for a black woman is a big deal). My body is tight and toned and my skin is soft and even. My nails are longer. My eyelashes are longer too. I have so much energy. Plus, I lost 10 inches around my waist and I finally have a flat stomach. But more than that, I have peace of mind. I believe in myself and I'm fighting for my health now. I will live 'The Remedy' life forever. Wellness Salute!

(I should know, since I have read nearly all raw food and cleansing book, and wrote one myself.) The health activist author, Supa Nova Slom, has the distinction of being known as hip-hop's Medicine Man who has helped some of music's biggest names on their road to health. While most African Americans were "the guinea pigs for the processed food industry," Supa Nova was blessed to have had a mother that raised him on wheat grass, sprouts, vegetarianism and detoxing. Raised in the hood, Supa Nova observed that "gansta life is as high-stress as any corner-office corporate gig." He and his mother educated people about health, first in the gangsta circles, then hip-hop circles, and finally in outreach education and speaking engagements. WOW. I can't imagine how being raised like that. What an edge this guy must have over those of us raised on what he calls "the Toxitarian diet"! Hi mother, Queen Afua, also writes the foreword.

Part 1 presents the remedy, a four-day cleanse. It's simple: anyone can do a four day cleanse of green drinks without medical supervision. (Nonetheless, the author advises that you seek medical advice if certain symptoms appear--probably mentioning this for legal protection since there is really nothing the doctor can do since these are detox symptoms: your body is just trying to get rid of the toxins).

Supa Nova describes how he moved beyond vegetarian or vegan and became a "cholorophyllian." I usually just chug my green drinks down since the bitter taste is not pleasant. But to hear Supa Nova describe the green elixir he devised for the four-day cleanse, I found my mouth watering. I couldn't wait to get home and try it. This will definitely be this year's "spring cleaning" method for my body. It is better than water or juice fasting because you are giving the body the nutrition and alkalyzing it needs. "My whole life I've done juice fast, the Master Cleanse, water fast--almost every kind of fast and cleanse that there is--and I can personally attest to the fact that The Remedy cleanse program is the greatest, quickest and easiest mental, physical, emotional and spiritual natural reboot I've found to date," he tells us. He makes us forgo TV during the four days, so this is a fast for the mind as well!

Part 2 outlines the 5-week cleanse for those serious about changing their lifestyle. Week one is flexitarian, eating some meat but forgoing red meat and sugar. Week two you become a vegetarian, with 50-75% of the food raw or lightly steamed. Week three you are a "supa raw food vegan." Week four is a juice fast. Week five you find your own rhythm, find what works for you from you four-week experience. No dogma--I like that. Everyone is different and we can't all be vegans, vegetarians, or 100% raw. We must listen to our own bodies.

The book also has testimonies and advice sprinkled throughout from some of the big and influential names behind the scenes and on stage in hip-hop. It includes motivational principles, history and facts behind the steps to be taken, physical exercises, and recipes (vegan, both raw and cooked). It also has recipes for juices aimed at cleansing specific organs and tissues: kidney cleanser, liver cleanser, blood builder, lymphatic flush juice, respiratory cleanser, immune booster, and colon cleanser. These refined and perfected recipes alone are worth the price of the book. They also made my mouth water and I can't wait to try them out.

The author discusses how it is hard to communicate with today's youth, and that he is a "translator." So I was expecting someone to be at least 30 or 35. But when I saw his photo, I was astounded by his radiant youth. Judging by his life experience, he probably IS at least 30 to 35--proof that all that cleansing, chlorophyll-ating and eating raw has sure kept him youthful!

I love this book. I did the 4 day detox and I lost 9lbs! It was very easy to follow and I wasn't hungry at all. I had a lot of energy and I didn't experience headaches as I have in the past when I have taken other detox products! I no longer crave sugar!

Lots of discussion, very few formulas.

Slightly disappointing overall.
This book does a good job discussing the basics for design and implementation of D/A and A/D converts. Don't expect to find much in the way of formulas, metrics for design/testing, derivations and examples.
As a text book for a senior D/A, A/D course it is not appropriate. It is useful for those who have a background in the design of a/d and d/a circuits and just want to understand what is it they are designing. A very good discussion (not really explanation) of theory.
Covers topics like sampling circuits, sample-and-hold architectures, basic principles of a/d, various building block circuits, precision techniques and some testing and characterization.

She is retired as an Associate Professor Emeritus, Sinclair School of Nursing, University of Missouri–Columbia, but continues to keep up to date in nursing both as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Ohio State University, College of Nursing and as an author of nursing textbooks.

Dr. LeMone had numerous awards for scholarship and teaching during her more than 30 years as a nurse educator. She is most honored for receiving the Kemper Fellowship for Teaching Excellence from the University of Missouri–Columbia, the Unique Contribution Award from the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association, and for being selected as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing

Dr. LeMone currently lives in Ohio. She enjoys traveling, gardening, knitting and reading fiction.

She believes that her education gave her solid and everlasting roots in nursing. Her work with students has given her the wings that have allowed her love of nursing and teaching to continue through the years

Karen M. Burke, RN, MS

Karen Burke has been a nurse educator for much of her career, teaching basic and advanced medical-surgical nursing and pathophysiology. She retired as director of the nursing and health occupations programs at Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Oregon, subsequently serving as nursing education consultant and program manager for the Oregon State Board of Nursing. She currently provides consulting services for nursing and higher education.

Ms. Burke earner her diploma in nursing from Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Portland, Oregon, later completing baccalaureate studies at Oregon Health & Science University, and a master’s degree in nursing at the University of Portland. She has been actively involved in nursing education and clinical nursing education reform, as well as in initiatives to address the nursing faculty shortage. Ms. Burke is coauthor of another text, Medical-Surgical Nursing Care (3rd edition) with Elaine Mohn-Brown and Linda Eby.

Ms Burke strongly values the nursing profession and the importance of providing a strong education in the art and science of nursing for students preparing to enter the profession, no matter which educational path is being pursued.

Gerene Bauldoff, RN, PhD, FAAN

Gerene Bauldoff is an Associate Professor of Clinical Nursing at the Ohio State University College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio.� She has been a nurse educator for ten years, teaching medical-surgical nursing, clinical specialist role and translational science courses at the baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral levels.� Prior to her nursing educator role, her clinical background includes home health nurse, lung transplant coordinator and pulmonary rehabilitation coordinator.� Dr. Bauldoff has a diploma from the Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, PA, and a BSN from LaRoche College, in Pittsburgh.� Her graduate education is from the University of Pittsburgh, with a MSN in Medical-surgical nursing (Cardiopulmonary clinical nurse specialist) and PhD in Nursing in 2001, training under Leslie Hoffman, PhD, RN, FAAN.�

Dr. Bauldoff is an active member in multiple professional organizations including Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), the American Thoracic Society Nursing Assembly and the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP).� She is a recognized expert in medical-surgical nursing, focusing on the care of the patient with chronic pulmonary disease and served as the nursing representative on the ACCP/AACVPR Evidence-based Guidelines for Pulmonary Rehabilitation published in 2007.� She has been honored with fellowship in AACVPR and ACCP.� �She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and has been appointed to the Community-Based Care board of the Ohio Council of Home Care and Hospice.�

Dr. Bauldoff feels nursing is the best profession, using of scientific evidence to provide the highest quality of care while maintaining the personal relationship with the patient and their family.�� Her experiences provide her with insights and lessons learned that she shares with her students.�

Dr. Bauldoff resides in central Ohio.� She enjoys reading, walking, bicycling, golf and spending time with her family and friends.� She is learning the intricacies of social networking and keeps up to date with technology to be able to interface with her students, family and friends.

�Paula Gubrud-Howe, RN, EdD

�

Paula Gubrud-Howe�has more than 25 years of experience as a nurse educator involving multiple levels of programs from LPN to doctoral education. Dr. Gubrud-Howe is a founding leader and co-director of the Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education, an award winning consortium that includes the five campuses of OHSU and nine community colleges. She also has more than 20 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing, critical care, home health, and hospice.

Dr. Gubrud-Howe earned a baccalaureate degree in nursing from Walla Walla University (1980), a MS in community-based nursing from OHSU (1993), and an EdD in postsecondary education from Portland State University (2008). She is a frequent invited speaker at national and international nursing education conferences and consults with other states and countries on the development of competency-based curriculum and nursing education consortia designed to promote academic progression in nursing education. Dr. Gubrud-Howe's research is focused on clinical education redesign and the integration of simulation into nursing curriculum.
