I loved “The Haunted Houses of New York City”! The descriptions of the thirteen haunted places were priceless. Including the pinching ghost of St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery, the over-sexed Gertrude ghost of The Merchant House, and the ghost of Edward Smith who haunts while wearing a ballerina’s tutu! Oh, and did I mention stringless Howdy Doody Ghost of Gay Street? A must read for anyone interested in the paranormal with a touch of humor!

A great new number puzzle

Hidato is a great new number puzzle, and this book contains some very challenging puzzles. Hidato puzzles can be solved by pure logic, which means you don't ever have to guess. But, if you are like me, you will end up guessing sometimes and then will find that some later numbers don't fit, so you must backtrack and see where you went wrong. The puzzle is superb at teaching logic skills as well as patience! I plan on using these puzzles with my middle school math kids, to improve their thinking abilities.

Light-weight Puzzle

This puzzle type is fun to solve. The idea is to complete a grid beginning with "1" and continuing to the last number in numerical order. The only stipulation being that the next number has to be placed in a square that is either horizontal, vertical, or diagonal to the one before and after it. You are given the first, last, and some numbers as clues to filling out the rest of the grid.

The more complex the puzzle, the larger the matrix. After getting the hang of it, these take about half the time an equivalent level Sudoku puzzle would take.

CUTS THROUGH THE B.S.

James put together a book that cuts through the BS and actually shows the reader what his deals looked like. He talks about how he financed them, how he found them, and in some cases what exactly went wrong. James also speaks about the waves of changes that come through real estate such as condo conversions, and the real way to make big profits is to be on the lookout for these trends and beat then to the punch.

I have read alot of real estate books that are an upsell to some bogus seminar or coaching program, however this book (which focuses more on big deals $1+ Million) gives you not a taste, but a dinner plate of information on what happens in high stakes real estate. He goes into detail on every detail and doesn't just tell you his successful stories, but also his flops as well. He explains that the way to make big money is to be able to get into a trend before the market picks it up. (First mover advantage)

Out of the 10 RE books I have read, this one is the best.

Great Book, full of examples and street smart tactics.
I've read Jim's book about three times and every time it's an enlightening experience. He provides nuances on many real estate deals with pervasive jargon and dialog among deal makers.
Unlike dozen of other real estate books which I've read, his approach is very practical to get the most out of every deal. I can safely say that I can apply his scenarios and tactics during negotiation.
I bought Jim's other books, The Skinny on Willpower, Success, Network to get myself started and motivated in investing in real estate. Excellent books with graphics and straight to the point.
I am so impressed with Jim's book, knowledge, and IT WOULD BE GREAT IF HE AGREES TO BECOME MY MENTOR FOR ANOTHER SUCCESS STORY IN HIS BOOK. That's my next step!

the Encyclopedia of commercial real estate

I know this phrase is overused a lot in reviews but, this book is a must have 4 anyone involved in commercial real estate weathered be investing development or construction this book will give you some very valuable insight to the do's and don'ts of the business. Mr Randle Also goes over the other ways to profit from commercial real estate other than just investing and properties. In the book The author goes over the mistakes he has made when buying properties and how you could avoid them. He also goes over and analyzes his success and why he was successful with his deals.

I think this book is a foundation in every commercial real estate professionals library. I will definitely be using it as a reference guide for when I purchase my first property.
